Home Gallery Case Studies (Alterations)

The ultimate transformation

This case study shows the transformation created under a renovation process. From the starting point of a rudimentary CAD drawing of the existing dwelling through to detailed concept drawings. This attention to design detail is a very important part of the process and ensures the client is able to take a ‘virtual walk-through’ of their home. This ensures even the smallest details have translated correctly into the design.

This particular dwelling involved a 10 month renovation and was completed in February 2011. The design maximises the site with expansive views overlooking the harbour and back to the Mount. This amazing vistas are captured perfectly when looking from the marble kitchen counter through the expansive windows to the pool and well beyond. I am sure you will agree it has had a complete transformation to now represent a very sleek and stylish home.

Expecting all the right things from an alteration

The clients were expecting their third baby (imminently).  They liked the location of their home but it was dated, and too small.  The market was not right to sell.

The brief was to add an additional master bedroom, en-suite bathroom, child’s bedroom and playroom.    In addition to adding on, the family also wanted to renovate the existing part of the house, including all flooring, a new kitchen, re-painting, adding a heat pump, and a new hotwater system.

As Anna was expecting, we wanted to the make the process as easy as possible from briefing and overseeing the architectural designer, through to all the finishing touches.
