Kitchen Definitions

These are some of the definitions and features that you can have in your kitchen.  If you have something else in mind that is not detailed below, please let us know and we will investigate it for you.

The majority of photos were taken at Heirloom Kitchens showroom.

Working Triange

The goal of most kitchens is to place the three most common work sites (generally the fridge, stove and sink), the most efficient distance apart.   If you place these too far apart you will have to waste time walking between these areas, particularly annoying if you are carrying things !  If you place them too close together you will not have enough bench space to prepare food.

Extractor

Takes the steam away from your kitchen when cooking on the hobs.

Negative Detail

Makes the benchtop appear to ‘float’ above the cabinets / island unit.  The detailing can also be applied above cabinets.

Toe Kick

A toe kick is a recess at the bottom of a base cabinet. It provides a recess for your feet so you can get close to the counter top without losing your balance.
