Urban Ridge: The story so far….
Part of driving a successful model is recognising that you have to continue to evolve as a company and with each development. Urban Ridge is no exception, early on we came to understand that people wanted to feel like their home was unique. The trick was to combine this uniqueness whilst still delivering an affordable product with all the quality ticks.
We knew the development already had lots of advantages, it was one of the closest developments under construction near the CBD, it was next to the Gordon Carmichael Reserve and only a few minutes walk to shops. However this was not enough, the homes themselves had to stand out as well. Clients told us they wanted to feel like the home and interiors had their own personal stamp and reflected the lifestyle they wanted to enjoy. It was important that each new home owner feels like they are moving into their home designed and built for them alone.
The challenge was to achieve this personal touch whilst ensuring it was affordable. There was no dispute the Silestone benchtops had to stay, the Bosch appliances, the nice vanities and taps, the tiling, and high quality carpet. Instead of cutting things out and starting with a basic model, we understood that when people walked into an Urban Ridge showhome they wanted everything that was in it, not just the frames. So we talked to all our suppliers and negotiated some seriously good deals, combined with the energy and graft of our team who build the houses, the fact we own the land and sell the properties ourselves we were able to pass on our savings and offer the homes at a price that people could afford.
