We have achieved a reputation for outstanding quality, often going above and beyond to achieve exceptional results, which has been recognised in the Registered Master Builders’ House of the Year competition. We have accomplished this by fastidiously honing our procedures throughout the entire build process. In a number of instances, our best practice processes are unique to Thorne Group. This includes the way we box up the floors through to the finishes touches on the home. It’s an accumulation of dedication, perseverance and years of collective experience. We are thrilled and excited that all three of our entries into this year’s Registered Master Builders House of the year received gold awards. This translates to the quality being 80% above the industry standard. Furthermore, two of our homes made the coveted ‘Top 100 homes in the country’ list.

A large rural site in one of the region’s most attractive residential enclaves has been honoured with this handsome two-storey home. A combination of cedar and stone cladding wraps the double-height entrance, making a grand statement that sets the tone for what’s to come.
The architecturally designed home responds to the contouring land and is superbly connected to its site. The entrance pavilion opens up to the rolling rural vista, drawing the eye outdoors across a water feature with stepping stones. The outdoor living area is sensational and uses the landscape to maximise privacy.
Both levels feature generous cantilevers to enhance year-round outdoor living. Interior living is just as dramatic, with areas dedicated to dining, entertaining and relaxing. There are four bedrooms in total, with the guest suite on the lower level, while the main suite and two other bedrooms – each with a deck – are located on the second level. A bridge on the top floor links the house to a private spa deck overlooking the Wairoa River and countryside.
